Inspired by a painting of Brazilian landscape designer, Roberto Burle Marx, the team of Urbnarc team gave Adira Resorts a design originating from the unique landscape of Kerala, India. The plan of the resort, which is located on the freshwater lake island of Vembanad, is centered around the backwaters theme and the distinct tropical and lush landscape surrounding it.
Originally, the island is composed of levees and dikes for cultivating rice which was converted eventually into a land strip system where water channels alternate with overgrown local flora. The architects were inspired by the beautiful environment to design a luxury property resort that evokes the natural character of the island.
Urbnarc designed the resort to be accessed by water only in order to keep the property’s current waterway framework. Several forms of water bodies and water channels with varying visuals are created by architects which also provide different recreational and functional purposes.
