Kammerspiel as Option for Space-Saving Living Space in Dense Cities
Thanks to the well thought out and intricate detailing, Kammerspiel is a self-sufficient home solution

Who says a small place means a lot of inconveniences? The German designer Nils Holger Moormann has shown that there is no dearth of creativity in this world and created a living box called Kammerspiel. Requiring an area of 41 square meters, this box acts as a bedroom, a garage, a reading room, a walk-in closet, and much more. His innovative concept comes right in time when the metropolitan cities are struggling to provide its residents with affordable housing. Kammerspiel has the potential of turning even the smallest of the apartments into cozy and comfortable living places.

With cooperation from the B&O Group, Moorman successfully completed and released the first prototype of Kammerspiel (translated as ‘Intimate Theatre’). With its space saving design, it will majorly benefit the people who believe in a minimalistic lifestyle and live in small apartments. At first glance, it looks just like a cubical piece of a big furniture. But on closer inspection, one can notice the well-thought out intricate detailing that goes into making it a self-sufficient home solution.
The Bed of Kammerspiel is Designed to Offer Complete Privacy
There are well-lit stairs that lead up to the bed with the space beneath each stair effectively used for storage. The bed is designed to be placed in such a manner that it offers complete privacy. Each of the walls is designed to serve various purposes and also separates it from the open space in the room. While, one wall performs the role of a reading room, the other acts as a complete kitchen solution. The reading wall incorporates a couch and a bookshelf for storing books. Acting as a storage for utensils, the other wall also has a dining table that can be folded to work as a blackboard.

There is a bike rack placed on one side of the box. This also acts as a sort of display. To give the house a lively look, there are several display cases provided to showcase paintings etc. Within the cube’s volume, one can store crates of beverages, gear, and other volume consuming items. This portion also has various hooks and shelves for storing all sorts of paraphernalia.

Thus, Kammerspiel helps to keep your home clutter-free. At the same time, it helps to maintain the airiness of the rest of the studio apartment. This brilliant concept is a result of a number of innovative ideas that have been successfully implemented to produce this multifunctional unit. To maintain the sustainability of our living spaces, such out of the box ideas are the need of the hour.
The stigma surrounding container living is the view of the container itself, not the interior, which you have mastered. How we break that outside box view from the street as a negative barrier is the bigger feat. Cities, Counties etc are not going to allow them as long as they look like shipping containers.
Creative exterior images of a Craftman’s/Cottage style house need to be incorporated.
