The 2016 season of the extraordinary restaurant Stedsans ØsterGRO has been launched. It is situated on a rooftop in the Danish capital Copenhagen in the middle of the urban rooftop farm ØsterGRO. After renovation during the last winter, a hundred tons of soil were moved back up on the roof. The 600 square meter farm on top of an industrial building has been founded two years ago in 2014. A place like this attracts the attention of city dwellers and may give rise to the idea of pleasure, distraction or relaxation. Maybe it is the right place for your next dinner – in case you fancy a change.
According to Stedsans, the food is made of fresh ingredients from local biodynamic and organic farms. The meals are mostly plant-based and without gluten or other artificial additives. The menu – consisting of five or six courses – varies from week to week. Stedsans offers guests a welcome change and provides an element of the unexpected. Specific requirements, such as vegetarian ingredients or food allergies, can be clarified in advance during the booking.
The Community Supported Agriculture (CSA) served 40 local families in 2015. As members, they pay at the beginning of the season. As required, they can reap portions of the cultivated vegetables during the harvest season from June to November.
Around 6,000 guests enjoyed the green atmosphere in 2015. The season normally runs from April/May to October. Opening hours are generally between 17.30 and 20.15 from Thursday to Sunday. If you are interested to attend a dinner, make sure to book on time.
If you have further questions, please contact Stedsans via email. You can find them at ØsterGRO on the roof of Æbeløgade 4 – 2100 København Ø – Denmark. The roof is accessible via a steep spiral staircase. If required, an elevator is available upon request. Do not forget appropriate footwear and clothing in case of cold or wet evenings.
