As announced by Amsterdam’s city council, petrol and diesel cars, as well as motorbikes, are not allowed to drive within the city boundaries of Netherlands capital Amsterdam. This “traffic adjustment” will not be abrupt. “Pollution often is a silent killer and is one of the greatest health hazards in Amsterdam,” said Sharon Dijksma, Amsterdam’s traffic councilor, when announcing the plans.
